Cobra King F7 driver review – First impressions. The Cobra King F7 driver follows on from the very successful King F6 driver which also came in a regular and F6+ model. The F7 has a similarly large head profile which should inspire plenty of confidence behind the ball. The F7+ is slightly more compact.
Just hit the new Cobra King Drivers and Irons
Posted this on GolfWRX, just wanted to share with you guys.
I just got back from a Cobra demo day and thought I'd share a little feedback. I hit three different types of driver heads in multiple different shafts. I currently play a Callaway X2 Hot Pro at 8.5* with an Aldila Tour Green shaft. All three of the Cobra heads were much more forgiving than my current driver. I found this surprising, because with the same swing the M1 was a slice machine.
First head had a flip weight, very similar to the Fly-Z+. I played this one at 9*. With the weight in the back, it launched higher and carried shorter than I typically expect. I didn't get to try with the weight forward.
Second head had a track weight going from front to back. I hit with the weight near the middle of the track. Still launched a little higher than I need. Very straight drives, surprisingly so.
Third head was the LTD with the space port. At 9* , the best shaft I tried was the Aldila Tour Blue. Ball speed was between 154-159mph, launch angle 14* -16* , 250-266 carry on straight shots, 2800-3400rpm. My straightest drive had 0.0* spin axis (I didn't even know this was possible?!) and 266 carry.
The drivers were excellent, but the best part for me was the King Pro irons. Let me start this by saying that I am NOT a good golfer, and this is the first time I ever hit a blade. I hit the 8 iron and 5 iron with the KBS C-taper shaft. After hitting these, I almost don't understand how I got along with GI clubs. Those were by far the best feeling and looking shots I have ever hit with irons. Everything felt right about these clubs.
EDIT: First driver head was the F6, second was the F6+.
